Research
Through research we can figure out what our users wants and needs are and whether or not the product that we are designing is even relevant.
Planning
After completing the initial research and having a good idea of what the user wants we move onto the planning stage. This is where we create a user persona and start to layout what features we need to have in our design.
Design
This is where we start to make the initial sketches of how we would want our final product to look. Incorporating our features and thinking about user accessibility.
Build
Here we start to make our prototypes. This involves first creating paper-prototypes and then moving onto mid-fi prototypes and eventually creating our high-fi prototypes or handing our mid-fi’s off to be skinned by UI designers. During this phase there is also a lot of testing involved, especially at the initial paper prototype stage.
Test
This is usability testing. Testing is used throughout the process once there is enough to test. It’s important to keep testing throughout the process as if you were to just do this at the end of the building phase you may find issues that could have been fixed beforehand and you may end up creating extra work for yourself.
